"This app can't run on your PC"? On Windows that almost always means the download was interrupted, or your PC is an ARM device. In order:

1. Re-download — a partial download is the usual cause. The installer is about 4.6 MB; only a few KB means it didn't finish. Confirm it with the SHA-256 above (PowerShell: Get-FileHash .\BassMuse-…-Setup.exe -Algorithm SHA256).
2. Pause antivirus download-scanning and try a different browser.
3. Check Settings → System → About → System type — BassMuse needs 64-bit Windows on an Intel/AMD processor (ARM devices aren't supported).

Manual install (Windows): download the VST3 ZIP — no installer to run; it contains the plugin, the manual, and a README with copy-in steps.

Some antivirus tools (for example McAfee, and Windows SmartScreen) may warn about or quarantine a newly-released installer as "unrecognised" or "not commonly downloaded." This is a false positive based on reputation — not a sign the file is unsafe. Every BassMuse build is code-signed (publisher: Edward Kocol) with a valid signature, and the warnings fade on their own as each release is downloaded more widely.

• Confirm it's the genuine file — check the SHA-256 above, or right-click the installer → Properties → Digital Signatures and verify it's signed by Edward Kocol.
• Restore & allow it — in your antivirus, restore the file from quarantine and add it to allowed / excluded items, then run it. (For a Windows SmartScreen prompt, click More info → Run anyway.)
• Or skip the installer — use the manual VST3 ZIP (see "Installer won't run, or prefer a manual install?" above) and copy the plugin in by hand.
